The butterflies are disappearing quickly as I’m counting down to the big cover reveal for my newest picture book, THEN GOD WHISPERED: A LITTLE CREATION STORY (The Little Press/Bless This Press, April 6, 2027)!
Fun Fact 4: I discovered recently that I’m drawn to swirls and smooth edges when it comes to design. When I look around my home, I’m amazed at all of the swirls in the things that surround us. I remember as a kid in class doodling during lectures (or when I was supposed to be doing math) and they were almost always some kind of swirl. So I was completely blown away (again:) by the lines and movement in Enni’s cover art and in all of the interior artwork. One more God whisper!
Sensibility- Understanding how a picture book comes to life makes reading it even more joyful!
Sense- In traditional publishing, the editor chooses the illustrator, and the author must trust the process.
