I’m counting down to the big cover reveal for my newest picture book, THEN GOD WHISPERED: A LITTLE CREATION STORY (The Little Press/Bless This Press, April 6, 2027).
Fun Fact 2: When I saw Enni’s initial rendering of the cover and her amazing interior sketches, I couldn’t believe how she had so beautifully depicted God throughout the story…in a completely different (and totally perfect) way than I had envisioned. No spoilers…you’ll have to see it for yourself on April 6, 2027! Trust me, when the author/illustrator relationship works the way it’s supposed to, it is a powerful thing. God’s second whisper to me in this process!
Sensibility- Understanding how a picture book comes to life makes reading it even more joyful!
Sense- In traditional publishing, the editor chooses the illustrator, and the author must trust the process.
